I am from New York and i want to get into Chicago for their predentistry course. i don't know what their reputation is to the ppl of Illinois. like i don't want to go to a school that is known to be a bad school in chicago.

Do you mean University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign or University of Chicago One being a top public school, the other a top private. UIUC is a great school but if you're interested in dentistry University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is easily the best dental school in the nation.

It's okay...US News and World Report (pretty much the bible for college rankings) listed it as a third tier school ...although..."In 2006, UIC tied for 59th-75th place in the best academic universities in North America and tied for 102nd place in the world by an annual listing of the Top 500 World Universities, published by the Institute of Higher Education in Shanghai, China"

Don't listen to "A voice crying in the wilderness" He is confused. The school your talking about is somewhere in the middle. It's know in Chicago as a pretty good school. No one is going to be amazed by the fact that you went there but no one is going to say it's a bad school either. It's a huge school and most people in Chicago know about it. To comment on this statement. "i don't want to go to a school that is known to be a bad school in chicago."... no don't worry, that’s not the case.
